About JAB

Junior American Basketball (JAB) is a nonprofit youth basketball league for 3rd-8th graders based in Costa Mesa, CA. It was born out of a vision to inspire community youth to learn and love the sport of basketball.

JAB is a fun and relaxed, yet competitive "t-shirt league". We welcome players of ALL levels. Players will learn the fundamentals of basketball with an encouraging and fun "neighborhood" vibe.

We have high expectations of sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect -- for both our athletes as well as their parents. We are a community. We are all here for every kid, not just our own.

All games are played on Sundays between 11 am and 5 pm
Games are 40 minutes long

Teams chosen by Draft (Players who don't attend Evaluations are placed in the "Wild Card" category)

Message from Brian

My name is Brian Beerbower, also known in the community as Mr. Dude. 

I've worked for the City of Costa Mesa Parks and Recreation Department, Estancia and Edison High Schools, and various club basketball programs. 

I currently run FAB 5, a year-round club basketball program in Costa Mesa.

I started JAB to provide a fun neighborhood league for local kids to be exposed to the amazing sport of basketball. I'm proud to see and hear the excitement among families for each upcoming season of JAB.
